Just who is she? Besides a member of the WPW,
Grace had this to share about herself:
With a degree in social work and a knack for emotions, healthy relationships are my ultimate jam. Whether it's a sub and their Dom, an open marriage, a sweet erotic romance, or a hot bondage fantasy, you can bet that the women and men involved will be self-aware and bravely vulnerable.
When an opportunity arises for Libby to regain some of her former clout with a showing at a gallery in Rosemary Beach, Florida, she jumps at the chance. Brant dutifully accompanies her, but complications at work demand his attention from afar. Libby’s hope for their marriage are dwindling fast.
Enter Zander, the gallery owner’s right-hand man and driving force behind the whole trip. He’s admired Liberty for years, coveted her talent, and would like nothing more than to add her to his long list of conquests. Libby is an easy mark for his focused seduction.
So what’s Libby to do, when the man she adores doesn’t seem to appreciate her? How does she resist the fascinated devotion being dangled just short of her grasp? When real life interferes with their love story, is it too late to rewrite The End?
Grace is a sensitive soul with a big heart,
and that comes across in all of her actions. She braved some of my interview questions. Dive into her mind and have a look at what makes Grace Quillen the person she is.
If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? "They're all here. Take your time. Let me know where you're ready to go again."
What is your idea of earthly happiness?
A small home with people I love and with whom I feel safe to be completely myself. Hopefully a man in that mix somewhere. Enough money to employ a few friends for various jobs.
Who are your favorite fictional heroes/heroines? My favorite book, Freedom & Necessity (which I totally namecheck in Choosing Joy) has my two favorites: Susan & Jamie. They have such wonderful banter, an intellectual respect for each other, and they're both complete badasses who get shit done. But Hermione Granger is my spirit animal, for realz.
Who are your favorite heroes/heroines in real life? One of my good friends is a special forces veteran. He's dealing with Gulf War Illness, PTSD, and a host of other issues. It's difficult knowing that was the cost of protecting us. And he doesn't want thanks or glory; he wants people to recognize what we're sending our men and women out to do when we ask them to fight for us and be realistic about the care it takes to recover. He was the inspiration for my character Jack, in Jack & Maia.
You want me to pick ONE?? Girl, I'm all about the Top Three, but I'll try to rein it in. Whew. Okay. Sweating a little. Painter: Monet. Poet: Anne Sexton. Musicians: Ani DiFranco, Fiona Apple, Paul Simon. (I imagined you pointing a gun at my head to see if I could narrow it down, but nope. Hope you have a good imaginary clean-up crew for the brain spatter.)
What is your motto or favorite quote? "The truth will set you free. But not until it is finished with you." - David Foster Wallace
